Custom and OEM planning
Plan a Custom Privacy Filter Pilot When Packaging MOQs Differ

Plan a custom privacy filter pilot around separate filter and color-box minimums. Compare quantity scenarios and prepare a clear B2B quotation request.
For a ScreenWord custom privacy filter project, the published minimum is 50 filter pieces. Custom color-box packaging has a separate minimum of 1,000 boxes, regardless of size. These are different items with different units: the 50-piece filter minimum does not, by itself, include custom color boxes or lower their 1,000-box minimum. Plan the filter pilot and any color-box scope on separate inquiry lines, then confirm the proposed configuration and commercial terms in writing.
That separation is useful when a brand or procurement team wants to test a filter configuration before deciding on private-label packaging. The minimums tell you how to frame the request; they do not by themselves settle what will be quoted, packed or delivered.
Separate the filter quantity from the custom color-box quantity
Count custom privacy filters in pieces and custom color boxes in boxes. The two published minimums apply to those named scopes, not to a combined total. For example, 50 filter pieces meet the published filter quantity threshold, but a proposal for 50 custom color boxes is below the published 1,000-box threshold. A request that does not yet include custom color boxes should say so explicitly.
Do not treat “packaging” as another name for “custom color boxes.” A pilot may still need an agreed way to protect and identify its filters, but the form, contents and cost of that arrangement belong in the quotation. Nor should a buyer assume one box per filter without first defining the proposed pack unit. The custom-cut privacy filter project page lists the two minimums and the inputs for a project review.
Compare three pilot-order requests before asking for a quote
The quantities below are illustrative planning scenarios only. They are not customer orders, accepted production combinations or formal quotations. “Meets minimum” means only that the proposed number reaches the published threshold for that named item; it does not confirm an offer or delivery arrangement.
| Illustrative scenario | Separate quantity lines, threshold reading and questions still open |
|---|---|
| A | Filters: 50 pieces — reaches the published filter minimum. Custom color boxes: Not requested yet — no color-box scope is assumed. Confirm: Filter specification, sample goal, the pilot’s packaging arrangement and written quote terms. |
| B | Filters: 50 pieces — reaches the published filter minimum. Custom color boxes: 1,000 boxes — reaches the published color-box minimum. Confirm: Pack contents, artwork approval, and the intended use and handling of boxes beyond the initial 50 filters. Do not assume storage or later release is included. |
| C | Filters: 1,000 pieces — above the published filter minimum. Custom color boxes: 1,000 boxes — reaches the published color-box minimum. Confirm: The approved filter and box specifications, quantity per pack, sample scope and delivery plan. Equal counts do not establish a one-filter-per-box arrangement. |
Scenario B has 950 more proposed boxes than initial filter pieces. That is arithmetic, not a warehousing or split-delivery promise. Ask how the two quantities would be handled in the written quote before approving either scope. Scenario C may look numerically aligned, but its actual pack contents still need agreement.
Decide which scope belongs in the pilot and which belongs in a later packaging decision
Start with the filter question: which device or application is the pilot for, what are the visible width, height and aspect ratio, which attachment and function version are being considered, how many filter pieces are requested, and what should a sample help the buyer decide? Keep any unselected detail open rather than naming a finished specification prematurely.
Then choose whether custom color boxes are part of this inquiry. If the brand has not selected them, write “not requested yet” on the box line and ask what packaging arrangement is being proposed for the filter pilot. This keeps a future private-label decision separate without implying that a particular alternative package is free or already approved.
If custom color boxes are requested now, state their intended recipient or use, proposed quantity, existing label or artwork status, and who will approve the presentation. The guide to choosing a packaging format covers the physical pack and artwork questions in detail; this article stays with the quantity decision. If a later project contains several device or configuration groups, bulk privacy filter order options can carry that wider procurement discussion. Once real quotations exist, use a separate worksheet to compare deployment costs instead of guessing a pilot saving here.
Send a two-line inquiry that can be quoted without hidden assumptions
Paste a short summary into the existing text inquiry. This is a fill-in template, not a price or an order confirmation:
Custom filter configuration and quantity: [device/application; visible width × height and ratio; attachment and function request; sample objective; ___ filter pieces]
Custom color-box scope and quantity: [not requested yet or intended format, label/artwork status and approval owner; ___ boxes]
Add the decisions that need a written answer: the final filter material and specification, sample scope, the packaging arrangement for the pilot, any box contents and excess-box handling, and the quoted cost, payment and delivery terms. Where a field is open, label it open; do not let a blank packaging line be read as an included 1,000-box order. Final quantities and terms belong in the written quotation or order confirmation.
Ready to put the two scopes on record? Request a two-line project quote and paste the filter line, the box line and your open questions into the form.
